The 2.2 comes in two power outputs (163 & 200). The 200ps that I have is plenty for swift progress, and it’s smooth, economical and reliable. I’ve never felt it was lacking power on motorways or A roads. I’m sure that the V6 may be better, but for everyday normal use, there is nothing really between them.

Pop the hood. Select Oil level by pressing the button on the end of the stalk several times. Press "Cancel" twice on the steering wheel cruise control. The display will now inform you of the current Oil level.
By all accounts the 3.0d gets a good write up and combined with the 8 speed box should get better mpg than the 2.7d 6 speed. On paper the 2.2d 200 appears to be a viable option, but from reading on the forum I shouldn’t expect any better mpg or reliability than the 3.0d can offer. Jaguar now use Shell helix ultra Low Ash C1 Oil WSS M2C 934B as Jaguar cars now have a Diesel Particulate filter like all other car manufacturer's. You need a Low Ash C1 Oil so it helps to keep the DPFilter from getting blocked.
