Imo you can dye it so no skeletal effect is visible or you can also do a negative effect. Though there is a high chance we'll see another new skin set with wintersday, considering how popular it is.

What confused me was the fact that the reward was named "Astral Ward Skyscale Mount Unlock". I interpreted the "Astral Ward" component to mean that it was an entirely new skin for the mount. My sincerest apologies to the devs, the community and all for the kerfuffle, I will be more careful in my reading and interpreting in the future.
Thus mount skins in GW2 are not "the worst" in regards of pricing or looks. Thus you are wrong. Q.E.D. On a serious note though, I do agree that the pricing on the mounts are a "bit" high, esp. the lootbox mounts I find distastefull. When it comes to looks however, I think they do a fairly good job. Because of this, locked mount skins cannot be previewed in any color other than their default colors because they cannot be selected as your current skin to then be able to preview dyes on them in the Dye tab. I dislike that I cannot preview locked mount skins in other color palettes. I have also never understood what that 'Show in Default

What kind of mount skins would you like to see? For me I would love to see Mistfire wolf for the Jackal.For a Halloween vibe please make Oxidecimus the Shadow Raven into a mount for griffon. That would be soo awesome!I heard someone say a fish for the skimmer (maybe a jumping fish animation thing) Could be cool but mostly all for the first two.
