When a Plugable DisplayLink device is not working as expected with a Windows system, the best practice is to disconnect the device from the host system (and remove it's external power source, if it has one) and perform a 'clean' manual installation of the latest version we recommend of the required DisplayLink software driver to help ensure both are in a good state. 1) Insert random usb 3.0 flash drive in monitors usb 3.0 port. 2) Connect monitor with usb 3.0 (to pc) to usb type C (to monitor) 3) OnScreen Control will now recognize connected monitor and allow upgrade. I don't know why it wont work without flash drive (windows 10 driver issues?), but inserting that flash drive did it for me. Good luck. Get a USB-C to USB-A cable that supports at least USB 3.x Gen 1 (5 Gbps). You don't need Gen 2 (10 Gbps) support since the display doesn't support it, but some C to A cables only support USB 2.0, so avoid those. Connect the USB-C side to the display and the USB-A side to your Precision.
I am using a UHD monitor but when I connect USB-C or DP(display port), the max resolution is not supported. You have to make sure that your PC graphics card’s display port or USB-C output condition meets the 4K(3840x2160@60Hz) spec of your monitor. You have to activate the DisplayPort 1.2 menu before you can use 4K(3840x2160@60Hz). Try this
Current Monitor Model Name: LG 34WQ73A-B Issue: I want to connect two MacBooks to the same monitor and share the keyboard by attaching it via the USB 3.0 port on the monitor. Everything works as expected over USB-C connected to the first MacBook but the other one is connected over DP and it does not seem to recognize the keyboard.

I have to use a usb-c to usb-c cable from pc to monitor which powers the other 2 type a usb ports. Look at the diagram in the LG users manual for your monitor. The tb3 port has a usb-c connector and it actually uses dp 1.2 alternate mode usb so it should work. Turn off hdmi ultra HD deep color Enable DP 1.2 in the monitor osd.
VGA, HDMI, DVI, and Thunderbolt 2 output supported using adapters (sold separately) You can find the full specs here: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) - Technical Specifications. If the monitor you’re using meets these specs, and is not working, the next thing to try would be to connect the monitor directly to the Mac

If you’re using a Dell XPS 13 or MacBook Pro that only has USB-C, you may end up connecting your laptop to a USB-C hub that includes HDMI support. In that case, just pop the HDMI into the dock
