1995.5-2005 are the MkIV body, 2005.5-2010 are MkV body style. 2004-2005 had a BEW 2005.5-2006.5 had a BRM They are both 1.9L Pumpe Duse engines, the BRM being slightly more powerful because its in a bigger car.

I would suggest you start a build thread with your horsepower/torque goals and get input on your specs so you have a matching collection of parts.
I think the main thing that makes the 2.0 a better car than the 1.9 is that usually they have the stronger f40 gearbox rather than the Achilles heal of the 1.9, the m32. Though apparently not all of them use the f40. I've also seen 2.0's listed for sale as having 136bhp rather than the normal 170.
